CAF raises funds to support Carlmont students beyond what’s available from the state and other funding sources.
Our fundraising always supports the following school year, because Carlmont High School must know the funds available before they can allocate budget and hire the necessary staff.
Almost two thirds of the funds raised by CAF are dedicated to reducing class sizes and offering class choices that otherwise wouldn’t be available. For the 2026-2027 school year, CAF has funded a total of 22 additional class sections.
Funding for two additional counselors on campus brings more focus on the “whole student,” from academic advising to mental health support. In addition, CAF is working with Carlmont to support the Wellness Center, which provides ongoing one-on-one mental health support as well as drop-in support.
CAF supports multiple programs that help Carlmont students discover their passions, prepare for college, and find their paths beyond high school. In addition to counselors, CAF funds dedicated college and career assistance as well as PSAT fees for all juniors, college application essay support to help our students navigate the admissions process, and academic scholarships for graduating seniors.
CAF fully funds the Academic Support Center tutoring programs, which provide daily one-on-one support to students.
Your donations directly support our teachers’ productivity and creativity in a number of ways. We provide funding assistance for the Biotech Institute and the Leadership Program. In addition, funding assistance for instrumental music, vocal music, media, and digital arts makes additional art options available at Carlmont. Teacher enrichment grants bring new ideas to life, jointly funded with the Carlmont PTSA. Finally, CAF supports teachers with funds for inter-departmental collaboration as well as classroom supplies for subjects from physics to ceramics.
In the 2025-26 school year, more than 75% of CAF grants paid for the salaries of teachers and staff.
