We would like to thank the many parents and community members who have already donated to the Carlmont Academic Foundation this school year. To date, CAF has raised a total of $360K, over half-way to our goal of $600K. If you haven’t yet made your donation this school year, please plan to do so before June 30! We need your donations to secure the total funding of 16 class sections which will drive smaller class sizes and increased innovative classes for next school year. Anytime is a great time to make your donation, but May 9th is Stand Up For Public Schools Day – a perfect opportunity to support your student’s public education! Help CAF meet our goal of increasing donor participation.
The Chrome carts funded at the Bagpiper Bash have arrived and are being put to great use in the College and Career Center. Seniors (hopefully) had a little less stress completing college applications thanks to the CAF-funded after school essay assistance…more ways your CAF dollars help our students! CAF also funds our College and Career Assistant, Nina Rasor, which, in addition to the fabulous work she does, frees up a full-time counselor position and helps to reduce the student load of our counselors. Read about the work our counselors do below! You will be amazed to discover every aspect of our students’ lives that they touch! As CAF increases the amount raised, one goal is to fund an additional counselor, further reducing that load. This will will allow for much needed individual attention for each student.
CAF is looking for new volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering or just want to learn more about CAF, we invite you to attend our next general meeting on Monday, March 26th, from 7 – 8:30 located at the Carlmont High School Teacher’s Lounge. If you can’t make the meeting but are interested in volunteering, send us an email at email@example.com. We are looking to fill all sorts of volunteer positions, including Treasurer, Secretary, Matching Gifts Fulfillment, Thank You Note Writing, Bagpiper Bash Lead, Recruiting, and more! We’d love to hear from you.
