Dear Carlmont Families,

Welcome to the beginning of the Carlmont school year. I hope your summer was nice and relaxing and you are ready for the new school year to begin.

Earlier this week, Principal Crame sent out an email with information on the Carlmont CART – a “one-stop shopping” solution for many groups at Carlmont. Since this information is very important, we wanted to send it out again to make sure that you received it. Here’s to the new school year!

Carlmont Academic Foundation (CAF)

Support the Carlmont Academic Foundation by making a donation through the Carlmont CART. Last school year, CAF raised almost $430,000. With these funds, CAF funded 13 additional class periods for this school year, enabling ALL teachers to have smaller class sizes. Additionally, CAF supports the afterschool tutoring center, curriculum supplies for teachers, and support for extracurricular activities like instrumental and vocal music, journalism, and visual arts. This year, CAF is also funding a college counseling administrative assistant to strengthen Carlmont’s college counseling program. CAF’s suggested tax-deductible donation is $1,000 per student, but all gifts are valued at any level.

Mark your Calendars for the 2nd Annual CAF Bagpiper Bash on Sunday, September 20th

Dance to the music of Sinister Dexter, a 10-piece horn-driven funk and party band. Tickets are $150 per person and can be purchased on the Carlmont CART.

Student Store Parent Volunteers Needed

Congratulations! And to all new families coming to Carlmont High School! Your student is suddenly all grown up and starting a new phase of life. If you’re both elated and worried about this new transition and would like to still be a part of your student’s campus life, please volunteer at the Carlmont Student Store! The Student Store sells healthy snacks, drinks, PE & spirit clothes to help fund PTSA programs. Our little Store is open every day for 2 shifts to serve the students (and staff too). The Store is managed by a dedicated team of PTSA parents and staffed by parent volunteers. And it is your dedication and participation that makes running our little Store possible.  If you don’t have younger kids, please consider taking on the PM shifts. Do also consider taking on more than 1 slot, if you are able and willing. If you have questions/comments, please email Susy LeeSign up for a shift and/or get more information here.
