Dear Carlmont Parent,

It’s hard to believe that our kids will be high school students in just a few days. I hope last night’s orientation meeting calmed your nerves about this new transition and answered many of your questions.

It was my pleasure to represent the Carlmont Academic Foundation (CAF) and explain the importance of a strong foundation that benefits all Carlmont students and fosters an enhanced learning environment so that our students can get the most out of high school.

In case you missed last night’s meeting, attached is the CAF flyer that was handed out. We are fortunate that the teachers and administrators realize that a strong foundation at Carlmont is needed to maintain and expand programs for your student. To build a strong foundation and reach our goal of $500,000, CAF asks for your financial investment. CAF’s suggested tax-deductible donation is $1,000 per student. Please know that every gift counts and all donations are valued.

Additionally, please consider attending the 2nd annual CAF Bagpiper Bash. This fundraising dinner party promises to be an evening to remember and a great way to meet other Carlmont parents. Tickets are $150 per person and can be purchased online.

Welcome to Carlmont and enjoy these last few days before school starts.

CAF supports programs this year that help your student be ready in the classroom and ready for life!

CAF’s funding reaches all Carlmont students, by

  • Providing More Class Choices: more sections funded = more classes offered to Carlmont students. With last year’s donations, CAF funded 13 additional class periods for this school year, enabling all teachers to have smaller class sizes.
  • Investing in Teachers: more supplies = more hands-on student experiences; more training = energized teachers
  • Preparing Students for College and Career: enhanced tutoring, more college-prep classes= better prepared Carlmont graduates; strengthened college counseling program = calmer college application process
  • Funding Creative Programs: support for extra-curriculars like music, journalism, and visual arts = well-rounded Carlmont students
